If the Pats can sign Hodges, he would be the cherry on top to this offseason. He is a young LB that would be an instant upgrade over Van Noy and or McClelenn so if we can add him(for the right price) we would be able to cross another position of need off the list. I mean what FA wouldn't want to come to a team that some are already certain will win the Supper Bowl and are weak at that position.
What do you guys think?

I know this trade won't happen since both teams are in the division. But what do you guys think?:
Pats get: Calvin Pryor, 2018 1st round pick and 2018 3rd round pick and 2019 4th round pick.
Jets get: Jimmy G

Unless the Browns only offered them 2nd-3rd round picks for Jimmy G I think the Pats made a mistake by saying no. I think they are better off rolling with Brisett behind Brady and getting value for someone that is probably as good as gone next year unless they franchise tag him which would be stupid to franchise tag your backup. But that being said the Pats don't always go by the book and could franchise him but I think by the time Brady is done I think Jimmy G will be a starter for another team so the way I look at it is that they should try to at least get something for him rather than just letting him walk. Also now that the Browns, Giants, Texans Chifes and 49ers(maybe) have taken their QB of the future and with the QBs coming out in the draft next year the Pats I actually think made a mistake by holding on to Garapolo. The last two spots I could see him ending up is the Jets or the Carndals but more likely the Cardbals but I highly doubt either of those will happen
What do you guys think?
1.) 01 May 2017 20:01:24
I feel like they might hold out and see if any teams starter goes down with an injury like the Vikings last season and try and trade him to a desperate team like that.
2.) 02 May 2017 19:45:51
Maybe but I doubt that will happen. If they were asking for what the Eagles got for Bradford they would have traded him already but since they are asking for a lot more I doubt a team will give up multiple 1st round picks for a guy like Jimmy G. But I think they should try and get another 1st round pick for next year because they will have big needs at CB/ OLB/ WR/ SS I think they will go after a safety or corner in the first round next year and if they have two picks to address both that would be great. Hopefully Edalman resigns but other than that a lot of those guys who are FAs next year aren't coming back and will need to be replaced.
3.) 12 May 2017 14:40:45
Or they realize they have the successor to Brady. The Patriots found a franchise QB in round 2. If they move Garoppolo they will have to find another QB very soon. They would probably have to give up at least a few picks to get to the top of the draft to find someone who MIGHT be a replacement. Why not just keep Jimmy and let him back up Brady until he retires or gets hurt?
4.) 12 May 2017 16:01:52
Because after this season you are going to have to start franchise tagging him and that will be roughly 17+ million for a backup QB that won't be seeing the field.
29 Apr 2017 05:22:13
I think the Pats should take Jermy Sprinkle at some point tomorrow because they need depth at that position and Sprinkle gives them just that. I am also thinking ahead to next year now and with the needs they will have I really like the idea of the taking Harold Landry from BC and I also love the idea of them taking Adonis Alexander because I doubt Butler will be back. But the Pats will have a lot of holes to fill next offseason I think
28 Apr 2017 17:39:29
The Bucs should try and trade with the Packers and get the first pick in the 2nd round and take Dalvin Cook to pair with his fellow FSU buddy in Jamis Winston and to pair with first round pick O.J Howard and to go along with Mike Evans and Deshawn Jackson. This team is on the verge of contending and only missing one part on the O-line and and a DE possibly so other than Cook I could see them adding Chris Wormly or Ethan Pocic both of those would be good picks in the 3rd round but I think it is in their best interest to go up and grab Cook before he is gone

I can't believe that Hodges is still unsigned. He is a 26 year old LB who was ranked the 21st among all LBs in the NFL last year. Does he have some unknown injury that is scaring teams away? Or is he asking for too much money and teams are unwilling to pay him that much and he is unwilling to go any lower? Or does he have a bad attitude that teams don't want to bring into their lockerroom? Those are the only reasons why I could think of why he is still unsigned. Hopefully none of those are true because I would love the Pats to sign him(unlikely because he left his visit without a contract) but I would love him to sign with Oakland, they have a good all around team that is just missing some pieces at LB. I am kind of surprised that they went CB in the first round rather than getting a RT or LB. I think next year they will focus on possibly a RB in the first round but they could also try and get a LB or RT early as well. It all depends on how people perform this year and how the Raiders do and what their record is and how Lynch does. But they defiantly need to focus on LB and RT next offseason along with RB but that isn't as big of a need as the first two

The Pats just need to resign Hightower and get back on good terms with Butler and get him signed long term so I am able to relax and think about how good we are going to be next year. The Pats still have enough money left to sign both guys to big deals that should make them happy and plus who wouldn't want to come back if the team is looking like this. The got a younger TE to pair with Gronk who can catch and block and costs less then old Bennett we got Gillmore who was the top CB on most people boards(I had him above Boye for sure given his proven production) and he is a bigger body then Ryan was so he is going to be more physical. We get Ealy to line up across from Flowers with Branch who is back and Brown in the middle. That is a scary D line and they basically were able to get him while only moving back 8 spots in the draft. They took advantage of the DE situation in Carolina, they had too many so they were able to get one for cheap. And obviously we were able to get Cooks, he gives us a speedy option that should be one of our starting outside WRs to go with Hogan and Edalman. I say they should now trade Jimmy G and Amindola to the Browns for the 12th pick a second rounder and 2 3rd rounders, the Pats lower their asking price in order for the Browns to be willing to take on all of Amindolas contract. Then all that is left is resign Hightower to make that defense even scarier(and preven BB from looking dumb for trading away Jones and Collins) just think of our secondary of Gillmore Butler Mccorty and Chung and Harmon as a back up and Rowe as the 3rd CB a linebacker core of Hightower Mclellan and Nickovitch with Roberts and Van Noy around as backups and then a D line of Ealy Brown Branch and Flowers. I say draft Cook with the 12th pick(if they do the trade with the Browns) so that way their WRs are Cooks Edalman Hogan and Mitchal and I also think they should trade a late round pick to the Chiefs for D'anthony Thomas to help out a little in the WR category but mainly in the return game. And then you have Gronk and Allen as your 2 main TEs with 2 backups. A RB core of Cook(starter) Lewis(backup) and White(3rd down) and Devlin at FB and a decent O-line that can make do, they are connected to D.J Fluker as well so that wouldn't be a bad signing to sure up the line but they should focus on other things first. And all of this while having the GOAT at QB makes the Pats almost unstoppable.
What do you guys think?

Pats trade a 6th round pick to the Chiefs for De'Anthony Thomas. The Pats return game was not great last year and this cheap addition should boost the return game big time. Plus Thomas has seemed to lost his job to the incredable rookie season from Tyreek Hill.

Patriots offseason:
This is the order that I want it to happen.
1. Resign Hightower
2. Trade Jimmy G and Amindola to the Browns for the 12th pick and some 2nd and 3rd rounders as well.
3. Trade Butler for Cooks
I honestly don't care if the Pats trade Butler as long as they can trade Jimmy G and Amindola for the 12th pick and others but if not then keep Bulter and 100% bring back Hightower no matter what. If we trade for Cooks and don't unload a WR then there would be a log jam at that position. And we would be forced to sign a CB or draft one with the 32nd overall pick. I think do the Jimmy G and Amindola trade then use the 12th pick to draft a CB and then the 32nd pick to draft a HB. I am totally fine if the only one of these three things to happen is us bring back Hightower but in my opinion for the Butler trade to happen then they have to do step 2 first. I also will only do the Butler deal if it is just Butker for Cooks straight up or the Saints add more if the Pats have to add anything else then no deal all together.

Anyone else think that it is BS that the NFL doesn't give a truck to the super bowl MVP? I think that it will magically come back next year and I think it was a way of Godell snuffing Brady of what is rightfully his. And he wasn't even going to keep the truck he was going to give it to James White(who in my opinion should have won MVP) but knowing Brady he will just buy him a truck anyways and probably a better one than he would have gotten from the NFL too.
13 May 2017 14:07:21
I think the Browns got something in Kizer and won't waist a pick on a QB, I also doubt they will have the first overall pick next year. I think they will target a WR, LB or CB, or even S. They could get a RB as well. I think they will grab a WR and LB in the first round. Then grab a guy like Scarborow in the second round. And maybe add a guy like Ward and Butler (it hurts just to write this as a Pats fan) but the Browns took huge step towards actually being good. I think they will be in the playoffs before 2020, you heard it here first.

Or now possibly even Conoly if he slips.
27 Apr 2017 14:55:22
I just think both Cunningham and Jones would be good fits for the Pats I could see them using one of their third round picks and some late future round picks to move into the late-middle of the second round to draft Mcmillon instead of Cunningham but I think they should do everything (within reason) to get Jones because I doubt Butler will be coming back unless something crazy happens.
10 Mar 2017 21:41:05
What ever they get should be at least the 12th pick and then at least one 2nd rounder and. One 3rd rounder. All that matters is that they get the 12th pick and other value picks for him.
10 May 2017 14:21:44
Easily the Browns, Bucs and Bills.
08 Mar 2017 14:36:57
We are going to draft a DE or or CB RB in the first round and which ever position they don't draft in the 1st round they will draft in the 2nd and same in the 3rd. The Pats should do everything to bring back Hightower and Ryan.
08 Mar 2017 14:35:12
Sheard isn't coming back.
08 Mar 2017 14:34:30
You actually think that they would release Gates? That's like saying the Red Sox would release Ortiz or Padroia. He might not be the go to guy anymore but he is one of their franchise greats. And he will retire and go into the HOF as a Charger. If they release him the Charger fans would be even more pissed than they already are after losing their team and the team already releasing multiple key players.
08 Mar 2017 14:32:09
Ok yea just go after all the top names in FA I would say they don't end up with any of them.
