Pats-Jets trade:

I know this seems unlike since the two are in the same division but I think it should work.

Pats get: Bryce Petty

Jets get: 6th round pick in upcoming draft.

Pats need a QB or at least a backup to Edelman.

The Jets don't really need him since he is their 3rd string and they add a draft pick even though it is a late rounder.

Clay Harbor gets waived and signed to their practice squad.

Why would the Jets do that? They drafted Petty to groom him. I don't think they will trade him until they see what they have, especially for such a lousy pick.

Ok so they trade a 4th round pick and a 7th round pick for him. I thought he was drafted in the 6th round which is why I suggested they trade a 6th round pick for him.

Either way the Pats need a QB so they could trade for him or sign a guy like Yates.

I think that with the success that Belichick has had in late rounds and with the big rivalry between the two teams that there would be no chance that a trade like this would go down. There are plenty of other QBs on the free agent list that could do just as well as Petty and especially just for 1 game.
